When Green Day realeased their album American Idiot with the song "Holiday," liberal children of the George W. Bush era had finally found their anthem. As the band rocked out, they proclaimed:
"I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
This is our lives on holiday"
This is my generation. This sort of discombobulated group of young people trying to make their way in a world full of disturbing and confusing things. Much like a class trip over a long weekend, this "holiday" can seem very surreal, as can life for us at times.
So welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the greatest holiday of all: Life. And this is mine.
YESSSS! :)
